After every wedding I try to blog some sneak peeks of the couple’s day – little details, sweet moments and images that remind us just how special the celebration was. I usually say a few words about the couple, tidbits of their love story or something I learned about them through our relationship of client + photographer. But then there are these weddings – the weddings where my oldest and best friends get married. And I am at a loss for words.
I have tried to write this blog for Max + Emily about a dozen times, each time erasing it all and starting over. Not because the words about their amazing day aren’t easy to come by, but because they don’t feel perfect enough. I have known Emily since 7th grade – she is kind and generous, authentic to the core. She is always there when you need her, never demanding you (or anything) in return. I remember when she called me and said “So I had an interesting New Year’s Eve” – her voice was filled with excitement and I knew this was something special. I couldn’t choose a better partner for Em than Max – he makes us all laugh until our bellies hurt and he would do anything to make her happy. Their love is so strong, so true. And together they are really quite unstoppable.
It was no surprise that their wedding day was nothing short of perfection. We laughed (a lot) and cried (a lot) and I found myself just watching them love each other, soaking it all in as friends and family celebrated around them. I am so grateful for their friendship in my life and the opportunity to have captured such an incredible day in their love story. Thank you for including me in on your wedding day M + E, We sure do love you kids lots! xo
