Mexico 2014

March 20, 2014

This winter was hard on everyone. It was the worst and seemed to never end. It had everything – the cold, the snow, the wind, the ice, the cloudy days that never ended. I was pretty much walking around mad and crabby with everyone and everything. Oh Winter how we love to loathe you. After a few too many icy falls down our front stairs and too many bruises to count, I decided that we were going to run away for a hot, sunny beach vacation. Drew had never left the country and I was itching to escape and revamp my creative energies.

In early March we jetted off to Cancun, Mexico and landed to find ourselves surrounded by sunshine, white sand beaches, clear blue water and a lot of tequila. We spent most of our 6 days at the swim up bar and laying on the beach, but did venture out to visit Isla Mujeres (a repeat fav of mine) and some amazing restaurants and local secrets. Nothing like strong drinks, authentic Mexican food and sunburn.

As sad as we were to return to real life and much warmer temps, we were both excited to get back to our jobs feeling refreshed and reset. Sometimes you need a break, and we definitely took one. In the words of Andrew Spilde “We are doing this every year” – and I definitely have no objections!

Cheers to rest, relaxation and coming back creatively rejuvenated!
