1.19.14 Lake Superior Ice Caves / Apostle Islands National Lakeshore

January 20, 2014

On a warm winter Saturday, my momma & I took a trip along Lake Superior’s South Shore to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore ice caves. When we arrived at Meyer’s Beach there were maybe 25 cars in the parking lot – after 4 hours of hiking, exploring, laughing + taking photos of the intense natural beauty surrounding us – we left, passing over 350 cars parked in the lot & on the highway. Needless to say, it was exceptionally beautiful – and hundreds of people are flocking to see what it is all about.

If you have some time, I highly suggest making the trek and seeing the amazing ice caves.
Worth the drive, the hike, even the heart-stopping cracks underneath you.

I am so blessed & grateful to have a Momma that still loves playing outside with me,
encourages me to try new things and inspires me to stay young. Thanks for this day + the memories Mom, xo
